Advocacy & Support
We work with community stakeholders, organisations, schools, other charities, universities, national and international NGOs to provide opportunities for Gypsy and Traveller communities. This could be for a research project or to collaborate on a forum with providers to help inform how services for Travellers are delivered. This networking and partnered approach enables us to share best practice and strengthen skills all round.
Since the challenges facing the Traveller community are often complex and multilayered, bringing together a range of skills has helped us to meet some of these needs faster.
The community forums, which are often co-facilitated by us, are an opportunity to offer grassroots support, advice and advocacy services to community members.
Contact email@example.com if you’re interested in partnering on an idea.
Empowering the community
We also run various other projects to support the community including the Equality and Social Justice Unit (ESJU), which offers free advice to prevent families going to court by taking early action.
Our work with women and girls includes advice around domestic abuse issues and empowering women in Traveller communities to become more independent. We’ve also created a host of videos including a range that highlights the difficulties LGBT communities face within Traveller communities.
We focus on preventing people from going to court by encouraging and supporting them to take action early.
