1. What is the structure of the training session? / How is the training organised? / What is included in the training session?

2.What are the learning outcomes of the training session?

    1. Increase understanding of the dynamics and impacts of domestic abuse within the Irish Traveller community by listening to lived experience
    2. Increase awareness of the barriers to accessing support
    3. Receive practical and creative strategies to overcome the barriers and increase engagement

 3. What is unique about this training?

This training is co-delivered by Irish Traveller survivors of domestic abuse and ground the learning outcomes in lived experience. The training also includes a viewing of our film ‘Never Going To Beat You’ which is based on the lives of 18 Romani (Gypsy) and Irish Traveller survivors of domestic abuse.

4. How long is the training session?

The training lasts 2.5 hours in total and runs from 10am – 12:30pm.

5. Do we watch the film on Zoom?

No. Participants will view the ‘Never Going To Beat You’ film on Vimeo and, straight after watching the film, join the Zoom webinar.

6. How much is the training?

£35 per person.

7. How many people can attend a training session?

We require 13-30 participants to run one training session.

8. Who is responsible for promoting the training session / registering participants / etc?

Once the booking has been paid for or a purchase number has been submitted, a registration link will be shared with the booker.  It is then the responsibility of the Booker to distribute the registration link to the participants.  They MUST register by the given deadline stated in the confirmation email.

9. What if the registered people do not attend the training? Can we get a refund for those no shows?No.  Registrants are given a date to register by.  If they have not registered by that date, they will not be approved.  If they register in time and do not attend the training, you will not be given a refund for those missed places.

10.I can’t access the film. How can I watch it?

The film is password-protected and only available for a limited window of time on the training day (09:00- 11:00). You will receive instructions on how and when to watch the film – including the necessary links and passwords to do so.

11. I can’t join the Zoom webinar. Who do I contact?

12. As an organisation, we cannot use Zoom software to receive training. Can we use MS Teams or another video software instead?

No.  This can only be delivered on Zoom

13. We do not have enough people to sign up to a training session. Can we book as individuals?

This depends on how full the training dates are.  If you would like to enquire about this, please contact the office manager on officeadmin@travellermovement.org.uk

14. Can you speak about the communities and the barriers they face at our team meeting or lunch and learn session instead?

Due to our limited capacity as a by-and-for charity, we cannot commit to additional speaker opportunities at present. Please do get in contact if you can coordinate the cohort to book our training instead.

15.We can’t book the dates listed, can we contact you with alternative dates?

Unfortunately not.  The dates have been pre-organised with our Trainers.

16. Do you offer refunds?

All cancellations must be in writing. Cancellations made more than 2 weeks before the event will receive a full refund minus a charge of 10% per booking price per delegate. If cancellations are made after this time payment must be made in full. If reschedulling is made after this time, a suitable date will be offered by the team and 10% per booking price per person will be charged.  Substitutions can be made at any time without charge.
